COME TO THE FEAST

What is the Mass really about and why do Catholics say it is so important?

How do you answer when someone asks you: “Why do you do…?” or “Why do you say…?” How can we deepen our understanding and experience of coming to Mass?

Throughout November 2017, the whole Pastoral Area is invited to explore the Mass together – broken down into 5 sections

** Special focus at all Sunday Masses **

** Local ‘house groups’ to go deeper **

** Youth Events **

They are every Wednesday 7-8pm, and you do not have to participate every week, just whenever you would like to. You can also view past webinars at any time. FACEBOOK:

Did you know we have a Pastoral Area Facebook group? If you use Facebook, you are invited to join – search for “Avon Stour Pastoral Area” and then click on “Join”. It serves as a forum for us to share information about Pastoral Area matters or of particular interest to Pastoral Area members. Currently we have 55 members and it is a Closed Group, which means the posts are not viewable by the general public. The more members we have, the more useful this group will become. Here is a link to this facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/985692274837818/

THE EVENTS GIVEN BELOW HAVE MORE DETAILS ON THE PAGES LINKED TO THE BLACK PRINT.

COME TO THE FEAST

Come to the Feast explores the Mass over a period of 5 weeks, with a different focus each week:

  • Gather
  • Listen & Respond
  • Give Thanks and Praise
  • Receive
  • Go!

Each week everyone in the Pastoral area has a take-away information sheet, including suggestions for families; there is a special introduction before Mass to draw attention to key focus; children’s liturgy (where appropriate); special 'bidding prayer'; music (where appropriate) and priest input, including homily references.

In addition there are 5 weeks of House Groups meeting to explore more deeply our Holy Mass.
